E-Math — Geometry support that helps you work it out
MOE/SEAB Elementary Mathematics (4052 / SEC K310) Geometry and Measurement strand: angle properties, congruence and similarity, Pythagoras’ theorem, trigonometry (sine and cosine rules, bearings), mensuration in degrees and radians, circle properties, coordinate geometry and 2D vectors.
9 tracked MOE/SEAB skills, from angles, parallel lines and polygons to coordinate geometry and vectors in two dimensions. The tutor asks focused questions, you test the next step, and the understanding stays yours.
What an e-math — geometry tutor covers
Each skill is tracked separately so strong chapters never mask a shaky prerequisite.
- 1
Angles, parallel lines and polygons
Foundation skillApply vertically opposite, alternate, corresponding and interior angle properties on parallel lines and interior/exterior angles of polygons.
- 2
Congruence and similarity
Builds on Angles, parallel lines and polygonsProve and apply congruence (SSS, SAS, AAS, RHS) and similarity tests, including area and volume ratios of similar figures.
- 3
Bearings and scale drawings
Builds on Congruence and similarityInterpret three-figure bearings, map scales (1 : n) for lengths and areas, and angles of elevation and depression.
- 4
Pythagoras’ theorem
Foundation skillFind unknown lengths in right-angled triangles and determine whether a triangle is right-angled in 2D and 3D figures.
- 5
Trigonometry, sine rule and cosine rule
Builds on Pythagoras’ theoremApply trigonometric ratios of acute and obtuse angles, ½ab sin C, the sine rule and the cosine rule in 2D and 3D problems.
- 6
Mensuration — arc length, sector area and radians
Foundation skillCalculate arc length and sector area in degrees and radians (s = rθ, A = ½r²θ) and composite plane figures.
- 7
Mensuration — 3D solids (prisms, cylinders, cones, spheres)
Builds on Mensuration — arc length, sector area and radiansCalculate surface area and volume of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, spheres and composite solids.
- 8
Properties of circles
Builds on Angles, parallel lines and polygonsApply symmetric properties of chords and tangents and angle properties of circles (angle at centre, semicircle, same segment, cyclic quadrilateral).
- 9
Coordinate geometry and vectors in two dimensions
Builds on Pythagoras’ theoremFind gradient, length and midpoint of line segments, and use column vectors, position vectors, magnitude and geometric vector proofs.
How an e-math — geometry session unfolds
The student starts by asking for the answer—and ends up solving the key step themselves.
- Student
What’s the answer to the angle one? There’s a 68° angle and two parallel lines.
- Tutor
Before any numbers, name the pieces. Tell me the two parallel lines, the line cutting across them and the angle you’re asked for.
- Student
AB and CD are parallel. EF cuts them. I need the angle next to the 68°, on the same straight line.
- Tutor
Good — so those two angles sit together on a straight line. What do angles on a straight line always add up to?
- Student
180, so 180 − 68 = 112°. But there’s another angle marked at the bottom that looks the same — is that 112 too?
- Tutor
You have found both without me. Justify the second one in a single sentence: which relationship lets you say those two angles are equal — corresponding, alternate or co-interior? Your sentence has to name the exact pair of angles.
About this illustrative example
This walkthrough is an illustrative script written to show how the five-level hint progression works in E-Math — Geometry, not a transcript from a real student account.

How skill progress is recorded
Sessions build a clear skill record for the student and a calm, read-only summary for linked parents.
One bar per skill
Mastery is tracked skill by skill, not as a single subject percentage, so a strong topic cannot hide a weak one.
The hint level counts
Getting something right with one small hint moves the bar more than getting it right after five. The number we show you reflects how much help you needed.
Built from an event log
Every attempt, hint and explanation is recorded as an event, and the bars are calculated from that history. It can be replayed, which means the numbers are reproducible rather than asserted.
A parent sees the same numbers
A linked parent gets the same skill bars, the last judgement and its line of evidence behind each level, the recent session summaries and the flag counts — read-only, and nothing that is not also on your own pages.
9 skill bars, tracked independently
In e-math — geometry, that means 9 separate skill bars — angles, parallel lines and polygons, congruence and similarity, bearings and scale drawings, and the rest — each updating based on verified problem steps. Linked parents see the same topic bars and session takeaways in read-only mode.
E-Math — Geometry FAQs
Common questions from students and parents about studying this subject on tutor.ai.
Do I have to draw?
Mostly, yes — and on the shared whiteboard, because geometry is the part of maths where the sketch carries the reasoning. The tutor is sent a picture of the board, so it can read your diagram and question it. It can add one short card of its own beside it when a note helps — one card at a time, and never a solved line — but it will not draw the diagram for you.
Will it write my proof?
It will ask what you know, what you can justify, and which reason connects the two. You write the chain of reasons; it points at the gap.
Which geometry topics are covered?
Aligned to Singapore O-Level / SEC Elementary Mathematics (4052). Nine skills, in syllabus order: Angles, parallel lines and polygons; Congruence and similarity; Bearings and scale drawings; Pythagoras’ theorem; Trigonometry, sine rule and cosine rule; Mensuration — arc length, sector area and radians; Mensuration — 3D solids (prisms, cylinders, cones, spheres); Properties of circles; and Coordinate geometry and vectors in two dimensions.
What if my diagram is wrong?
Say so and start again — that is normal. The tutor responds to the claim you are making, not to the drawing, so if a step does not follow it will say which step breaks.
